Partners Glen McLean and Randy Pedersen fell in love with coffee at first sip. This passion quickly became something special, leading them to realize that the best coffee is crafted in small batches, nurtured to perfection by true coffee lovers, and should never come off a cold, corporate assembly line.

In 1996, guided by their passion, they began small-batch roasting fine Arabica coffees and opened a 196 sq/ft kiosk in McAllister Place Shopping Center in Saint John, N.B., Canada. Thus, the JavaMoose adventure began!

The Pursuit of Perfection

From day one, Glen and Randy knew that coffee needs to be done right. They sought out the best coffee beans from around the globe and some of the most advanced roasting equipment available, such as Diedrich Roasters with their 100 years of experience. Their dedication paid off as they poured passion, time, and an incredible amount of soul into the business, mastering the craft of roasting fine coffees.

Today, JavaMoose World Headquarters is a 2,500-square-foot roasting facility, often described as the best-smelling place on Earth. JavaMoose has expanded to four cafés along the Bay of Fundy shore in Southern New Brunswick – three in Saint John, also known as #SaintAwesome, and one in the quiet suburb of Rothesay. Their bulk coffee, fractional packages, and recyclable single-use pods are found in various offices, public institutions, and restaurants, making JavaMoose a part of many people's daily routine.

The JavaMoose team consists of 40 passionate individuals dedicated to providing guests and industry partners with a wonderful coffee experience. Their cafés are designed to be relaxing and contemporary, perfect for reading a book, having a business meeting, or simply chatting with friends over coffee before heading out on adventures.

Their exotic beans are carefully sourced globally and roasted to perfection to highlight and coax out the unique characteristics of each bean. Glen and Randy personally create their blends, perpetually discussing and cupping new and exciting combinations. They truly love their work and are always wide awake.
